Highlights from the previous Fairs

The 7th Annual GIS Career and Networking Fair was held on April 2, 2008, in Coffman Memorial Union. Presenters included Sally Wakefield (MN GIS/LIS and 1000 Friends of Minnesota), Len Kne (MGIS student), and Jack Dangermond, founder and president of ESRI. More than 20 companies and organizations attended, making it one of the most successful career fairs to date.

The 6th Annual GIS Career and Networking Fair was held March 29, 2007. For 2007, a series of GIS relevant presentations were held throughout the Career Fair for the first time. Presenters included Nikki Paripovich (ESRI); Sally Wakefield (GIS/LIS Consortium and 1000 Friends of Minnesota); Jesse Reinhardt (Carver County); and Jeff Matson (U of M/MNIS/CURA)

Students from around the region attended the event. A partial list of organizations represented at the 2007 fair includes The Minnesota GIS/LIS Consortium, The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, The USGS, ESRI, The University of Minnesota's Remote Sensing & Geospatial Analysis Laboratory, The Minnesota Department of Transportation, United Properties, US Fish and Wildlife Service, US Army Corps of Engineers, Saint Mary's University, and Hennepin County.
